iPhone 4GS Expected by All the Mobile Fans-myluxphone
In what could possibly be the biggest tech leak of recent history, Gizmodo this morning published a first-hand analysis of what by all measurable standards seems to be the next iPhone. The device, they claim, was found in a bar and by some yet unconfirmed chain of events came into their possession. While rumor reports and photo leaks are common in the tech industry, acquisition of a yet unreleased or unannounced product is extremely rare, especially Apple products.
The bigger question is how the device was “found” at all. Gizmodo claims that the iPhone prototype was left at a bar in Redwood City, CA, just 20 miles north of Apple’s Cupertino headquarters. The purported 4G iPhone was found in a case that disguised it as an iPhone 3GS, which if true, was most unfortunately left behind by an Apple employee field testing the device. Who exactly found the prototype is also a question of great mystery, one that Apple’s team of lawyers are probably working diligently to solve.
So let’s assume the iPhone 4G leak is real; what’s next, the iPhone 4GS? Apple’s strategy of annual June iPhone unveilings will, in all likelihood, continue as planned, but the issue seems like it would have to be formally addressed sooner; or perhaps not. Apple may decide to just ignore it completely and continue with their plans. Whether or not Apple publicly addresses the leak, there may be plenty of legal activity going on behind the scenes. Sources at Apple have said that the company views the missing device as stolen, not lost, which could mean trouble for the finder of the device and Gizmodo. Moreover, reporting on the device could be viewed as an unlawful misappropriation of trade secrets, as Apple claimed was the case in the Valleywag contest.
What’s changed from the iPhone 3GS is as the following: The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound; An aluminum border going completely around the outside; Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution); Everything is more squared off; 3 grams heavier; 16% Larger battery; Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery.
The USB cable on that screen was so high quality that it was impossible to discern individual pixels. You also need iPhone Cases to protect the broad screen. We can’t tell you the exact resolution of this next-generation iPhone, but it’s much higher than the current iPhone 3GS.
