China’s TD mobile phone sales are expected to surge seven times this year
Market research firm Strategy Analytics said Monday stimulated by China Mobile introduces new cell phones and services, sales of cell phone adopt China’s own 3G standard (TD-SCDMA standard) are expected to surge 7 times this year.
Strategy Analytics Company did not announce the expected total sales, but as the world’s largest mobile operator (in accordance with the total number of users) of China Mobile has said that last year introduced TD-SCDMA network services, already has 3.4 million customers.
But the technology initially issues and products in short supply, is a major factor curb China Mobile TD-SCDMA network development. 7 times the 3.4 million increases mean total TD-SCDMA handsets will be arrival with sold sales of Apple’s iPhone in 2009, and far more than summation of worldwide manufacturers Microsoft Windows Mobile last year. Despite China’s efforts to implement its domestic to the world of 3G wireless standard, but this new technology does not change the belated step of adverse facts. For example, in Europe and North America, many operators began committed to 3G network technology10 years ago; they do not rush to replace the existing network, because it needs to pay billions of dollars in funding.
Strategy Analytics Company pointed out that China Mobile marketing aim is to make TD-SCDMA as the world’s fastest growing mobile communications technologies, and making China an important 3G market.
China Mobile last month said it would spend 45 billion Yuan (about 6.6 billion U.S. dollars) to expand its 3G coverage, and introduced 80 varieties of TD-SCDMA handsets, to respond to concerns about the tepid performance of its technology launch in the 3G market. Analytics says Nokia (Nokia), Samsung Electronics (Samsung Electronics), ZTE Corporation (ZTE), Huawei (Huawei), MTK (MediaTek), ST Ericsson (ST-Ericsson) and Spread rum Communications (Spread rum) will benefit from the development of TD-SCDMA.
Last week, a senior Nokia official told Reuters, Nokia is only a support for the current TD-SCDMA network products, but the company is working to increase its product lines
